At PRC 2016, the committee took a fresh approach to its traditional format by integrating 5 pre-conference workshops into the core conference as a single event. Given the success to this approach - with all pre-conferences exceeding anticipating capacities - the format will be used again for 4th iPRC 2018.

If you want to dive deeper into a specific area of interest, we encourage you to extend your conference experience by signing up for a pre-conference workshop.

Pre-conference workshops are a full-day programs with a deeper and more experiential focus on a topic. The workshops tailored to suit various research interests in the expansive field of pharmacy.

Please note that workshops require advance sign-up and an additional fee.

Preceptors are clinical teachers who play a vital role in the education of pharmacy students. Preceptors facilitate a learning experience in which students take greater responsibility for their own learning during clinical pharmacy attachment. Through this clinical experiences, students have the opportunities to observe clinical pharmacy theory being put into practice performed by their respective preceptors who are also their role models.

Scientific writing, is an indispensable step of the scientific process.

Graduate students are encouraged to publish early and often, and professional scientists are generally evaluated by the quantity of articles published and the number of citations those articles receive.

It is therefore important that undergraduate and graduate students receive a solid foundation in scientific writing early in their academic careers.

Workshop 5

Supercritical fluid extraction (SFE) technology uses environmental-friendly method to extract, fractionate and isolate bioactive compounds from herbal plants or other botanical matrices. It uses supercritical carbon dioxide instead of an organic solvent. The supercritical fluid state occurs when a fluid is above its critical temperature (Tc) and critical pressure (Pc), when it is between the typical gas and liquid state. This supercritical state allows CO2 to take on properties of a gas (high diffusivity, low surface tension) as well as maintaining the solvating power of a liquid.
